Sony What are the "you should set the RX1 like this right out of the box" settings?

With my RX1 coming I was thinking, what settings make the most sense for you? I know from reading that the functions that can be set/assigned are very flexible so there is a lot of latitude but some make more sense than others.

So far I've deduced that for me, flexible spot focus is my preference for what I like to shoot a lot (people with critical focus on the eyes)...but that's all I've decided on so far. On my previous cameras I tended to change ISO a lot but the auto here seems very good so that's probably not something that I'd set.

I'm sure I won't be quickly toggling between "effects" and things like that.

What settings did you settle on that made sense to assign to a function button that you need/like to switch easily?

I think it depends on taste. I use manual everything.

My settings are:

AEL Button: Toggle between AF/MF (AF is actually DMF)
Back Wheel Left Button: ISO
Back Wheel Centre Button: One press change flexible spot position if on Flexible Spot AF
Back Wheel Right Button: White Balance
Back Wheel Down Button: Not Assigned.

I use the Fn Button to change between Flexible Spot and Centre AF areas.
In low light, I have a better success AF rate with Centre AF than with Flexible Spot.
I am not sure if anyone else' experience is similar.
In the cases when the camera just doesn't want to lock, the DMF function comes in handy because all you have to do is twist the focusing barrel and you are already focusing manually.

I've got other functions mapped to the various controls, but the whole AEL for AF/MF toggle is KILLER... in both AF and MF modes - when in MF it engages AF and locks onto the selected target, or allows focus peaking MF when set to AF mode. Suhweet. Also, having the switch back and forth between Center and Flexible focus modes with the center button engaging the spot selection and AF lock.... also killer.

I didn't realize that using the RIGHT custom functions would open the camera up so much, I had been using custom functions just to make things faster, but in reality if you know one mode really really well with the right CF setup..... Its ridiculously fast.

Thanks for making my day with this post!!!! Now if I can get my flash setup working the way I want it to.... :D
