Sony What bag do you use for 2 cam set up?

Regular
When I was only using M43, I can fit my Olympus OMD EM-5 and a whole lot of lens in my Billingham Hadley small or Hadley pro.

Hadley Small - eg. Camera body with 75mm, 12mm, 25mm comfortably and accessories in the front pockets or even an additional fisheye or 20mm lens in front pocket.

Now that I have the Sony RX1, I wanted to use a 2 body setup. Mainly OMD EM5 with 75mm and Sony RX1 and/or 1 other lens.

The Hadley small fits the OMD EM-5 and 75mm and Sony RX1 without the evf but with the evf, it just doesn't work. That's how I kind of dropped the ovf when I was taking it out. I think is the depth of the bag that is causing the problem.

Anyone else using a 2 cam set up where they leave the evf on the body?

Thanks

Currently using a Bare Bones Bag Traveller for four camera set-up, but these are more compact cameras (digital 2 - x100s and RX100, and film 2 - T3 and mju-ii) ;)

With your set-up I'd go (in priority order):
1. Bare Bones Bag - Evolution
2. Domke F-3x or F-803 (with 3 compartment insert), or
3. Thinktank Retrospective 5 or 7.

I happen to have that combination with me in Italy and the RX1 (w/EVF) and the OMD (w/75) fits easily in my Domke F10. Could probably add another m43 lens but you'd have to either stack it under one of the cameras or, if its a smaller prime (up to the size of the 12 or 45) it could just ride in the front pocket with the batteries and stuff. The F10 is smaller than the Hadley Small but holds more and is more configurable. Not as well padded, but well enough in my experience.

With lenses off and packed for maximum travel capacity (NOT access) I got the OMD (75, 9-18, body cap), XE1 (14mm / hood), RX1 (w/EVF, but not mounted), and Sigma DP1M (also with unmounted OVF) all in that bag. It's a tight fit, for sure, but this little bag can swallow a LOT...

I can second Ray's recommendation for the Domke F10 - see this video from a very nice guy Mike Thomas who filmed this in response to a question I asked of him re: the TT Retro 5 vs. F5XB vs. F10.

Only things I didn't really like about the F10 was the space created on either side of the strap - and between the flap - especially once the bag was full. I found dust and rain did sneak in that space. It will be fine for 98% of the population, but I live in the finicky world of the 2% when it comes to my bags :blush:. Also didn't really like the steel catch - only the deft can do this one-handed which I suppose is it's security intent. Otherwise a great bag that's deceptively roomy.

I use a Wotancraft City Explorer 'Ranger' with my RX1, 5D3, Zeiss 28/50/100 f/2s, a speedlight and a few accessories. The insert is 99.99% waterproof and the bag is incredible. A little heavy, but protects the gear incredibly well and looks super nice :D.

When I had a 5n and NEX 7, I could fit in a Hadley small:

* both bodies
* 50mm 1.8 attached to 5n (5n with EVF screwed on)
* 24mm 1.8 attached to NEX 7
* Voigtlander 35mm 1.2 II
* Voigtlander 15mm
* Pelicase with 16 SD cards
* Small pouch with 6 batteries
* Cleaning cloth and wet wipes
* Notebook (passport size) + pen
* Phone + keys

They all fitted and packed the little Hadley well.

In a Hadley Pro I could fit all that plus chargers (if needed) and water bottle.
In a Hadley Large...more than that.

I sold the Hadley small because it saw little action after a wedding I was shooting.
I kept the other two. I find that I better have a bit more space because sometimes I bring a sweater or an umbrella (I live in London) so it was worth having a bit more.

I don't like backpacks and I think the camera bags brands named above make it very obvious you are carrying gear.

Billinghams, however, look like fishermen bags (from where they derive) or Barbour bags.
This is particularly useful in places where snatch-theft is common as they are not immediately obvious as camera bags.

thanks for the good thread, even though I only have a "one cam set up" i chose the Domke f10. It will hold my minimum set up; camera, flash, modifiers, batteries, cards, and charger.

i'm always between several bags depending on where i'm going and what all i'll decide to take with me. but here's one i've been using:

my lowepro hatchback 16L AW is a much better day pack that will also allow me to bring a light jacket, and fits a tablet or 11.6" macbook air in the front pocket. also, the 11" air is exempt from needing to be out of the bag when going through security at the airport.

i just picked up a tamrac zuma 32. depending on the second body you're fitting, you can fit a smaller one in the lens-sized pocket right next to the body-sized (w/lens) pocket. i really like this form factor for a small, slim bag. i just wish they made one for a 13.3" macbook air. they only have one size for a tab or 11.6" air.
