Day 28 - Silver September 2013

A rather grand St Christopher

A capture from earlier this morning just before a band of torrential rain lurking a few miles to the east began to move west and affect this area.

At over 6 feet tall you wouldn't get far with this around your neck. It sits in a wall above Cattedown wharfs in Plymouth. At one time back in the 1960's I worked less than a mile away from here and until recently I never even knew it was here, so it pays to explore your district, never know what you might find.

well yesterday I had my squirrel capture system in place (tripod and long lens) and waited and waited and they never came. So then I took the long lens off and put the tripod away and photographed some rare LPs to list on eBay (to pay for the long lens) and then Mr. Squirrel came back. I quickly changed lenses, but had no time for the tripod. I was able to grab one shot (that wasn't blurry) before he disappeared again.

This photograph - of Luis David Sansans, the great Mexican cinematographer or Director de fotografía - was taken late last night (or was it early this morning?) on the set of a movie he is shooting in Mexico City, based on a script I co-wrote. This is a moment between takes, when Sansans was talking with the director, planning the shots to come - a serious moment of quiet reflection.

That sounds more than a bit interesting Miguel - tell us more

I have a friend who writes screenplays, many haven't made it but one did as a co-writer - Twin Town. A sequel was on the cards but seems to have slid out of sight which is a pity as the basis was hilarious in a black (very black) comedy way.
