Would love it if not for the lack of an EVF. Panasonic has a small one in the LF1, I wonder why did they not use it on the GM1 - even if it added a few millimeters to the body.
If the lens mount is going to be sticking out, why not just make the body a little thicker to encompass the mount, thereby making the body more hold able?
I'm very attracted to this camera. Love a small camera, and I love the aesthetics. But I don't think I quite understand it over the RX100. Controls here might be a touch better, but not a lot better. The RX100 starts at f/1.8, which is very handy. The RX100 has amazingly clean ISO for it's sensor size, and I don't think the Panny 43 sensor can make up the difference (i.e. RX100 at f/1.8 is probably better than the GM1 at f/3.5, given the almost 2 stops difference in ISO). It'd be interesting to see it with the PL15/1.7, but I do wonder, as others have noted, why do the m43 makers refuse to make a fixed lens/fast aperture m43 compact? That would be quite compelling.
Maybe Panasonic will be able to create a small 17/2. I'd be happy with that!
Except I'll take f/1.8 over f/3.5 any day of the week.
Funny thing is, I've seen v. little chatter about the fact that the PL15 seems to have an Ap ring on front.
What if future Panny primes had an aperture ring??
Is this legit?
That's a Panasonic.com URL
Looks like an OM lens and a Leica lens had a baby!
