Show "Blandness"

Leica X1

I've been thinking about this for a few days and trying to decide the meaning of this word. I'm thinking maybe plain, simple, unadorned. I think maybe objects should be functional. Then again, I may be on the wrong track entirely!

a definition of photographic blandness COULD be when the image looks the same (almost) when in colour or B & W

i.e. - it's to do with colour (blandness)

no offence to mini owners

Great picture. Not sure it hits the 'unadorned / bland / expressionless' mode though. Maybe if you took out the stairs and had him sitting there zen like beneath the smoke alarm.

I'm having the same problem I had earlier in this thread - when photos hit a certain level of "good", I have a problem also looking at them as "bland". These recent shots are too good and I'm having trouble reconciling myself to their "blandness"...

I do like the idea of Don floating all zen-like below the smoke detector with no stairs or visible means of support...
