Sony The NEX Image thread

Thanks BB. The 24mm just arrived today and I'm anxious to try it out. I was recently inspired by the work of David Carol, who appears to use something along the lines of that focal length.

The WHAT arrived today? When you say 24, you mean the 16mm Nex lens right, with its 24mm full frame equivalent? Because there's an ACTUAL 24mm lens supposedly pretty close to release, made by Zeiss for Sony, and if you're talking about THAT, I gotta know where its arriving FROM?!?!?!

Andrew, thanks so much for that link to David Carol's website! I can see why you liked what you saw, even as I'm just hitting the surface.

There are so many great photographers that I have yet to discover! Just this past weekend I ran across a book at a local architecture bookstore of the work of an Italian photographer. Simply stunning landscapes that so unique and beautiful and different. Published in France and they had a used copy. My bookshelves are straining!

But BTW I've been reading a lot of photog books lately. They are just so much more pleasurable than looking at pictures online, good as they may be. Especially in B&W.

Sorry to disappoint Ray, but it's the Sony 16mm. But I hope the Zeiss is announced (and released) soon.

I have been scouring the net for info on the Zeiss and there's nothing new. On February 11th they said 2-3 months for an announcement so it could be May before we hear.

Andrew, maybe you can give us a photograph of your straining bookshelves with that 16mm. I really enjoyed my brief foray with Don's 16mm.:cloud-9-039:

I agree with you about looking at a really good and well done book of photographs.

Right Briar, this is your inner conscience speaking, repeat after me

"I don't need another camera, I don't need another camera".

Repeat it every time you open this thread.

I can tell you're tempted but stick with the X100, I think you're going to love it. I had a play with one today and the viewfinder is superb, very bright with info in the screen. The EVF is super sharp too. In fact the whole camera is drop dead gorgeous!!! I want one!!

I'm sticking, Andy. Once I see it and get to use it, I will make up my mind. I hope that Lightroom antes up with the RAW conversion soon.

Thanks for your enthusiasm, Andy - it's contagious!
