What will your next (photographic) purchase be?

Pictor thanks for the information on Exposure Fusion - it had never entered my consciousness before your post. So I gave it a whirl last night, and I have to agree with Olli, it can do some wonderful things. Saved this old shot (well from my subjective perspective anyway) that I had on the hard-drive.
WARNING: not shot with a serious compact - but relevant to topic - I hope.

No, no, I didn't mean my comment as a pejorative! I wanted to encourage you all to discuss it in more detail over there so those of us who are interested could learn more or ask questions. I promise that was it! Conversations never stay on topic, do they? That's more along the lines of a lecture's style.;) So really, Mark that is all I meant.

None taken BB. However diverting folks down a myriad of segues is my 'forte'. Well, it's nice to know after all these years that I've finally discovered I have one

It's kind of like having a "special purpose"... Don't know if you ever saw that Steve Martin movie.;)

My "forte" is probably buying and selling cars...and maybe cameras.

next Purchase (possibly): Panny 25/1.4

I'd also drop coin on an Oly 50/2 m43 mount or an EP3, but I have a feeling neither of those are coming any time soon :(

I bought Photomatix today. And today was the first day I used my new tripod, which is great! I really enjoyed photographing with my tripod, it slows the shooting down, but it is possible to frame exactly without cropping afterwards. All pictures are sharp and since I used ISO 80 only, there is virtually no noise at all. This is a completely different style of shooting. Although I used my Canon G12, this is no pointing and shooting anymore. The tripod is light enough to be carried the whole day long, if necessary.

I'm in a downsizing mood so likely to be a used Panasonic ZS3 (from the proceeds of my m43 stuff)

I can see me getting the Carl Zeiss 24mm f/1.7 for my NEX 5 providing it's really good or maybe a decent zoom, depends what comes out. I really ought NOT to have a play with the X100 as i know I'll buy one!!!!

I too have been toying with the idea of a new tripod. The thought of being able to carry it all day is nice. My current tripod is one of those old school manfrotto tripods - after an hour it feels like it's made of cast iron and filled with lead.

I went on a spending splurge last week. A fairly modest one of a new tripod and messenger style bag.

The tripod is a Velbon Sherpa 803R which will replace my Manfrotto. The adjusment thingies on the Manfrotto are severely corroded from seawater. This seems to be a common problem with Manfrottos and while a great tripod for general use, not too hot if you like the splishy splasy.

The other buy is a Vanguard Up-Rise 38 messenger bag. This is a great bag and I appreciate the quick access via the top zip. The camera dividers also come out as a pod and it has a separate laptop compartment that just fits my laptop with its 15.6" screen. A very versatile bit of kit.

This week I get a new mobile broadband modem. The last was useless as coverage was poor. Using a different carrier will hopefully solve some of the issues there.

It starts to get serious after that.

Next purchase will be either a portait lens for my Nikon D90 or a macro lens, and possibly a Novoflex Nikon G to MFT adapter.

I could also use a replacement Olympus Pen body as the E-P1 is getting very battered. Why won't Olympus fast-track a semi-pro Pen??????

probably a 39mm polariser, but only if i can find one that doesn't cost an arm and a bit of a leg
blimey, just realised, it's the twelve-month anniversary of my buying the E-P2 today
