Winner announced - 26th Serious Compacts Salon Challenge - Chiaroscuro - ends March 7th, 11:59 PM PS

I couldn't agree more. Excellent theme.
That's what you get for choosing such a fantastic theme! ;)

Seriously, with this choice of theme, you've added to the way I think about photography, John. That's why this is such a fantastic forum, and is about the biggest compliment I can give. Thank you.

Dave

Thank you Dave.
Really wonderful to hear.

Luke,

when we used to do this type of Challenge some time back, Don used to open a specific gallery for each Challenge so that all the images could be seen side by side to make it easier to compare them.
When I uploaded my image I could not find a specific folder for this Salon Challenge

Is there one - have I missed it?

I think we stopped having galleries for the month long challenges, but yes theres nothing for this one. Maybe for the "only post ONE shot" challenges we could have one. I found the month long ones just completely overwhelming (and personal gallery space disappearing at a rate of knots)

The problem Sue, is that when you have a lot of images to compare you have to flick through x number of thread pages, where with one folder in Gallaries you can look at them quickly, side by side - must easier to look at and comment on that way - in fact you can put comments under each image

Just went back and changed my "entry" because the more I thought about chiaroscuro, the more I realized my initial choice of photo really was not appropriate to this challenge.

Don't sell yourself short, Kyle: this is a beautiful image....and from my perspective, very chiaroscuro-esque.

And btw you're in good company here - since there are so many intriguing, thoughtful and just plain great entries here which demand, like yours does, to be viewed....and then looked at again. :)

Ah hell I give up. I probably won't come up with anything better.

I put them all together here.
This is one talented group.

This is true. I always became overwhelmed at the point when some people would upload several at once... In the end, I just stopped trying to comment on everything. And yes, commenting on those was a good thing, but with anything up to 30 a day... or more... yikes.

I would definitely like to see these brief challenges which require only one shot to have their own gallery.
