I'm not struggling to take a picture every day in this challenge though to be fair I'm not taking it too seriously. I just grab a toy (I have a few ) each night after work and snap a picture or two. However, I am finding it hard to keep up with the commenting. I'm working my way though the gallery but you guys/girls keep adding more pictures in every day so just when I think I'm getting somewhere I find I'm really not! I am trying though and will get to all your pictures some time!!

I'm enjoying your series. These toy shots could have been silly or trite. Instead, they've been delightful and imaginative. You've really succeeded in creating a mood for each shot.

Day 15 - another shot I've taken before, but this time the lady behind the counter popped up just as I was about to hit the shutter release so this is a better shot.

Day 16. The pope's schedule in Manila takes him up an down the road outside our apartment building so I went out for a bit to take some pictures of the people lining the route waiting for him to pass. This was my favourite of the ones I took. I was too busy taking pictures to see him passing by but I did just catch a glimpse of him.

I'm out. Sick of fighting with the gallery. right now, even though I am logged in to the forum, the gallery refuses to recognise me. OK, so be it. BAH!

Here's what I would have posted, if I could have. Its crap, and born of desperation. Eggs before scramble.

I got lucky this morning. After yesterday (in which a surprise concert happened very close to work, affording me tons of easy SIJ pictures to choose from), I had no ideas whatsoever for what to shoot. Then as I left the house, I thought "take a slightly different way to work. See what happens." Minutes later I rounded a bend in the Charles and saw nice low-angle morning light breaking through the trees, lighting up the layer of snow on the frozen river, and thought "ok sure. That's nice." Some knob tweaking, and Velvia as a preset later, and I liked it SOOC. I was back on the bike in 60 seconds, max. Posting it now.

Hump Day.

It snowed last night and temps dropped below 0c so I didn't hold out much hope of a decent shot. I grabbed my camera and headed out at the very first hint of sunshine and it lasted for a full half hour. By the time I'd walked to the park and walked back, the snow had started again and we're looking at minus 14c for tonight.

Tomorrow could be a lot of fun. (y)

I have to say the more I use the 40-150 the more I like it. It is pretty darn sharp especially for a lens that only cost me $99 a couple years ago and how small it is. Only one little problem with it is chromatic aberration, will a lens hood help with that?

From what I understand, no. Hoods will help with issues that arise from strong, direct light hitting the front element at something close to a direct angle, where light bounces around in there between the elements... CA is caused by something else.

Thank you all for the positive comments. I have just noticed that most of mine are missing exif . I think this is because to save time I upload to flickr
then download the 1024 version to post here. Exif is intact on my flickr pages.
This is a great event and I am happy to be a part of it. When the month is up I will go through all the posted images.

Plugging along. Getting tired of my night pictures though, have to try to get away from work and take get some shots while it is still light out.

Anyone else noticing that the gallery does some processing that degrades the pictures. I really noticed it on today's submission. Compare these two links - same picture, one from the gallery and one from my website.

Lots of extra artifacts/blurring in the blue sky parts.
