Leica M8 using M8RAW2DNG, unlocked Raw files. This is ISO2500 equivalent. Uncompressed DNG improves low-light performance of the M8, puts it close to the M9 for High-ISO.

ISO 5000 equivalent, base ISO underexposed 5 stops and processed using CS2.

And ISO 10,000 - 6 stops down with the M8. Not as good as the M Monochrom, but to get something at all- amazing.

updated the images using the non-uniformity corrections in M8RAW2DNG. I've written up instructions for the "workflow".

Nice to see some film shots here and there. I like #1 & 3 the most, Nick. Did you apply any PP ?

Nothing really beyond a little straightening. I might have touched up levels for a few of them too..

Very, very nice shots Nick. The Portra is perfect for this subject and one of my favourites. Almost as good as digital ;) :p

Thanks! I'm enjoying the Portra so far :)

Skate and Fun ISO2500

Leica M8 using M8Raw mode. This is shot at ISO160 -4ev, then pushed 4 stops in LR. ISO2500 never looked so good on an M8. 1950 J-3, made by Zeiss in 1943. Wide-open at F1.5, 1/60th second and panned.

1/125th, pushed in Post.

So someone on another forum asked if it made sense to use a color filter with the M9 and M8 when you know in advance that you will always convert to monochrome. Some said yes, some said no.

I wrote my own FORTRAN code to find out. Will post more on Leicaplace. Including source code...
