Sony Showcase RX1 Images

A few shots from Trout and Copper Lakes, from a hike this last weekend. High, but not too high, in the Cascade range of WA state.

Yup, yup, yup, & the Stirling Moss one too!:)

Some from yesterday at Brooklands Museum. My new love..... Mercedes 190SL 1960. We were looking at this beautiful car when a German lady came up to chat, her husband restored this particular one and several others. She said it took about 200 hours but this doesn't sound a lot to me, perhaps something got lost in translation......

I should add that Mercedes World isn't actually part of Brooklands, they are just a few steps away and have a small track there.

I'm torn.. I just bought the RX1r and thought when I opened my first shots that I took with the RX1r I thought I would be blown away... not the case.. I need to mention that I thought it would succeed my X100T by far with image rendering and quality.. the issue I see with the RX is the clinical, digital and sterile look it produces.. the Fuji is just more natural looking in both jpeg and raw.. you can adjust the raw images of the RX all you want but it will not match the Fuji X100T for the Natural REAL life look and image feel.. Especially people shots and skin tones.. Make no mistake the Sony RX is a AWESOME camera.. just my 5 cents..
Your comments and rebuttals would be interesting and most welcome..

Flat looking raws aren't usually the problem, because you can manipulate them in PP. In that regard, I understand there's no end of manipulation that can be done to an RX1 file (let me know if I'm wrong), I think that'may be why some people really love it. That, plus the level of detail in each image when zoomed in, no?

Sony isn't known for it's jpegs - Fuji is. So if you shoot jpegs and your taste runs towards Fuji, then no argument. But the Sony raw files, IMHO, put anything from any Fuji I've worked with to shame. Sure, they're neutral when you first pull 'em up - that's their job! But there's practically NOTHING you can't do with an RX1 raw file.

Anything from natural and somewhat neutral:

Fuji files are wonderful in their own right, but they have limits that RX1 files don't have. Whether dynamic range, detail/resolution, or low light capability, or just the hard to describe rendering of that Zeiss Sonnar lens, the RX1 is in another league. If the RX1 isn't the right tool for what you want to do with it, that's a good thing to realize, but it's a pretty amazing tool.

I've never shot with a Fuji and admit I'm curious, but you can customize your Jpegs in so many ways with the RX1r, you can get some really good ones, many keepers. I realized that with my little Canon G7X which I find lacking in JPG settings compared to my RX100MII. But I assume you have more JPG keepers with a Fuji camera.

Hi.. Yes after learning to use Raw adjustments better, the RX1R seems to match or surpasses the Fuji X100T.. I need to learn more of how to adjust Raw images.. thats the bottom line.. both cameras are Awesome.. no doubt.. depends on your EYEBALL and choice.. :) I like to shoot jPEG only for simplicity purposes, however shooting Raw and developing is AWESOME as well.. if you have the time to do it, which I don't always have the time.. I want a camera that takes a perfect photo every time the shutter button is pushed.. "but that wouldn't be good either. no challenge.." any recommendations for a camera with a 1 push of shutter and a perfect Award Winning Photo every time? .. LOL..
