Dan, another congratulations upon the birth of your first grandchild - and a little girl, no less! She is absolutely the most beautiful little girl in the world, and I am so happy for you all.

This is a glorious portrait - you ought to enter it in the current Weekly Challenge. Stunning.

Jono, that is a superb photo...and I used my extra special EXIF viewer, too!:D I'm telling you, that is a fantastic example of what this camera is capable of - I don't know if you tweaked it after the fact but this is from a program mode, if I'm not mistaken and I am bowled over!

Jeez BB, that's a wonderful shot. I liked the portrait of her standing by the second floor railing, but this is such a perfect representation of HER amidst the crazy wonderfulness of a college graduation. Everything else is pretty much recognizable but out of focus while she's moving but totally in focus and clear. What a great memory to hold on to! A keeper among keepers!

Ah, I see, Dan - well she is the most beautiful!

With re my photo, although I'd forgotten that my ISO was set to 200, it does show that this camera can lock on via auto focus in very low light and with plenty of movement happening. The reception was in the very, very old gymnasium..a wonderful mysterious place with a banked wooden running track above...the main floor. I have some more pictures which should show more of the place.

Wonderful colors, Christina!

I love seeing this iconographic structure photographed in so many different ways! I must know - was this the standard setting for color, Astia, or did you shoot RAW and tweak a bit. Just love that railing color and what seems like a glow!

Thank you BB
I dropped the blue luminance on the sky just a touch, but that's all - I'm much too lazy to do any real PP!

all the best

Armando, I really like the intensity of that picture of yours - it's colors and brightness - and I'm sure the bike is a really nice one, too. ;-)

Hi BB - inexcusably, I just checked up on the price for that bike - it's cheaper than a leica M9 . . . . . . .. but only just! (at least in the UK)

Thanks!

@Jono - the bike is a WHOLE lot cheaper than the M9 (thankfully)!! 2010 Specialized Roubaix Elite with SRAM Apex components. It looks more expensive than it is. The frame was the top of line Specialized frame in 2009, but they trickled it down to the entry level model in 2010. They did the same thing with 2011.

@BB - I increased the contrast and clarity on this one in LR3.4. Also lifted the shadows but also increased the blacks. Then reduced the saturation. Almost film-like look.

Armando, as a fellow Houstonian....I'm surprised there isn't a stout chain attaching the bikes to the nearest metal pole!

Nice photo! At first I thought the X100 only shot in black-and-white....good to see what it can do in color.
