I thought I'd start this off with a photograph I took several years ago on a family vacation using my not so serious Canon Elph. No RAW, didn't even know what it was...just iPhoto, and it remains one of my favorites. Now that I have better software, I might be able to improve it but I think I shall let it stay just the way it is. The print version worked out very nicely and I'm so glad to have it.

Please add your photographs to this thread, with or without explanations. I look forward to being able to see many photos here, in time.

Elphs are nice cameras, BBW. I enjoyed shooting with one for a while too. I think seriousness lies more in the use or handling of a camera / intent of the photographer than in camera features. Lovely reds contrasting with blues and greens here. Well done!

Thanks, Mayank - I am with you

. This photo was taken down on the Outer Banks of North Carolina...a series of barrier islands along the Atlantic ocean with the Palmlico Sound on the inner curve. Parts of these islands are still pristine, thankfully.

Sigma DP1 - 1/30s - f/4 - ISO800

This is my friend at his first stand-up comedy performance. He did very well and had the crowd entertained throughout his act.

Prototype, I can just imagine your friend's line at that moment you caught him. Stand up comedy has to be one of the toughest acts to do well, so good for him that he kept the crowd entertained. You did well with that DP1, I wish you'd posted a larger version... Yeah, I know I sound like a broken record, but when I see photographs, I really like to see them larger to fully appreciate them. Yours looks very good.

Antonio, you're very fortunate your wife is such an attractive and willing model for you- in the fountain ones the way you've stopped the action of the fountain plays off especially well almost reflecting Zulma's hair... similar curls and waves.

Thank you both for adding your photographs!
