OK, so I'm trying out the auto ISO on this camera since it's so amazing even at 6400 (please note that this time I did not add an extra zero;))...so then I think, what should I program the Fn button for?

BB, the camera is good to 6400, but will only go to 3200 on auto iso. Just fyi if you didin't already know. I shot some very very dark shots in Philly a couple of weeks ago at f2.8 and 3200 at a reasonable shutter speed (I'm thinking in the 1/50 to 1/60 range) and they came out great, so with another aperture stop to go, I'm not sure why I'd need 6400. So I use auto a lot.

I think 100 and 6400 are jpeg only ISOs. They're not "real" camera ISOs, but simulated higher and lower than the actual range of 200-3200 by bumping the exposure and processing appropriately to compensate. Hence, neither are available in raw or in auto-iso.

HI Ray
fascinating - I didn't realise that . . . although I don't really see why they shouldn't be available in auto ISO even so?

Back to the auto ISO thing ...

Fuji please put the "auto" control on the same menu as ISO settings!!!! Just do it like everyone else does, please!!!

And while at it, why can't I use the upper control lever to change ISO while using the EVF, but I'm able to change the ISO with the control lever when using OVF?

Sorry, just had to get it off my chest. Hoping Fuji is listening ...

I like having a 'preferred ISO' and allowing auto ISO slip from 200 to 3200, though I would have liked 6400 to have been an option. Images still look good at 6400.

I like the idea of having the ND on the fn button, but it still brings up a ND Y/N menu; I'd assumed they would have realised that it should just be toggled. If only they had given us an optino to use it as a classic Finepix F button. Hoping Fuji is listening ...
