Leica Leica Q typ 116 case search

I made this video to show the need for a compact (snug fit) case for the Q that protects the lens body in urban environments. The half-case and holster leave the lens body exposed and the video shows what happens there. The concept for the case originates with Leica cameras such as the X1, which is shown here.

Dale, thanks for the video. I have an everyready case for my MP that I never use as I ussually carry more than one body a couple of lenses. However, recently I've been going out with just one body and one lens. I never realized how much bumping and grinding the lens is exposed to just hanging off your neck until I saw the scuff marks on your case.

There's a everyready case for the Q listed on Leica's website, are you not interested in that case?

Thanks - It may have to serve temporarily until I can get a case that looks like the ones in the video. But the eveready case does look much bulkier than the camera, so I'm hoping for the glove-fit case eventually.

Add'l note - maybe I should have included the term 'pouch', as I found some here at a reasonable price (scroll down - can't get a direct link).

Interestingly enough, the Nikon Coolpix A (fixed 28 mm eff. focal length) fit exactly inside of the 18727 case for the D-Lux6 - better than the D-Lux6 even, although the Nikon lens didn't project out like the Leica did. It was a sweet little thing to carry, and if only it had as good an image as the X1....

I'm going to sell the Luigi case I have. I also have an extra Leica battery and lens cap.

I assume you are shooting the "A" in jpeg mode as is your custom with your Leicas?

I have, and it does an excellent job, pretty much as well as the X. The following are from the Coolpix A and are posted on my website.

Cool pix a has at least one attraction to me.....the amiliar Nikon interface. Since a fixed lens also a good candidate for automatic dxo lens sensor corrections
