Sony The NEX Image thread

A good Scottish name, Sinclair! I may even call you by it as PRS TiFJ is a bit of a mouthful and I have to check every time I go to type it. If you are interested in the Scottish Clans stuff I helped out with a series of DVDs which are all very nicely shot, none of that tartan tat nonsense. The website is The Great Scottish Clans. No Sinclair yet I'm afraid.

Does Mia come with a story? She looks like a very happy wee dog. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you and the NEX3 are going to show us.

This isn't the photo I wanted it to be, but nevertheless... some cows on the West Highland Way a couple of weekends ago.

I love it, as well, and did the first time I saw it on your Flickr stream, Heather!

Simon, I know what you mean exactly and I think besides the fact that I find these cows enchanting that it's the whole color and lighting...as well as, Heather, your framing. The museum diorama analogy is very good - there's definitely a surreal feeling to this photograph and it is a serious favorite of mine.

That cow reminds me of the monster in "Avatar - The Last Airbender" (the anime, not the movie). haha... sorry I went geeky on you.

After a few weeks of abandoning the NEX (just so I could use the Canon system), I'm back to the small guy. Nothing spectacular though.

These are from a garden in my university, they call it "Idea Garden" and each summer, they decorate it according to a theme. Last year, it was this old nursery song called "Lady in a Shoe" (sorry if I mis-remember the title). I have yet to figure out what this year's theme is.

bonyari, you wrote "Nothing spectacular though". Well, I beg to differ. You have some great pictures - that one of the fellow at the bridge made me laugh, but there are some really beautiful flower pictures that you just shot with that NEX. Please consider posting some of them here - you can embed via Flickr. (y)

Excellent and thank you so much!

Here is a handy link to the whole site use when it comes to the galleries, now that you're all set on the embedding.;) Please feel free to post in any of the different image threads, as well. They can be found in first sub forum within Image Works. Thanks again - your flowers are wonderful!

I thought I had posted a reply but it seems to have disappeared.
I like the photo's you linked, the light is nice and they are shot quite playfully, if that makes sense.

I'm glad the cows are popular, as I say its not the photo I wanted, but that will be for another day. There is no shortage of cows, that's for sure. Next time I get a chance I'm going to head up to my pals dairy farm on Loch Lomond and get some lovely black and white cows. The buildings are rickety, the floors are all cracked up, it'll be great. And then there is the view. It's hard to describe really. 3000ft mountains, green fields in the fore, a huge loch with tree covered islands.... Jealous yet?

I missed yet another shot today. An old lady with a green carrier bag feeding the swans on the boating pond whilst a sea of pigeons bubbled at her feet. She had a headscarf on. Beat that, St Christopher.

I've already posted my kudos over on your Costa Rica thread, but I'll say it again here.
Dan - wonderful!! I feel as though you were channeling Dali in your first, or perhaps Peter Max? Very, very cool with that background and the wonderful water droplets on that beautiful rose - but my heart belongs to the lovely pair in your second. Two great images, Dan.

So... let's try to use the Image gallery thing.
