I don't own the 23 f1.4, but I so far I think the 35 might be the best all-around fuji lens, period.

this lens i think is the best value in the whole fuji lineup. just great even at a higher price IMO good particularly in the permanent dark world I inhabit at this time of year

I tried the 18-55 on the xe1 it is very good as kit zooms go probably the best out there. I'm just not a zoom guy

I got the XT without the kit zoom for the same reason - not a "zoom" guy.

i ordered the 16-50 and 50-230 from a japan ebay seller for my wife - they are surprisingly good for a pair of lenses that cost $350 plus the $75 i was assessed by customs . Still not a zoom guy but i can see using the 16-50 sometimes ( I'm thankful Henry's had sold out of the XE1 with the 18-55 kit because it got me to buy the XT1 instead and the 2 zooms from japan). My wife will probably prefer using the XT when we go someplace together, I'm easy i love both cameras as long as i have the great primes to use

This is the lens that keeps me from leaving Fuji. I took it for a walk with my wife and the dogs yesterday hoping I wouldn't get anything good and that would free me to sell the kit. Nope.....it's just too nice. I should have probably stopped it down a step or two to get all 3 in the focal plane. But it's close enough. And if you view it at full size, one can marvel at the sharpness wide open (the white one, Charlie, was my focal point).
