Fuji Steve Huff's M9 vs. X100 Field Test

Thanks David.
Interesting read. The image comparisons don't surprise me at all.
I wouldn't bother comparing the two. I prefer to see the X100 as it is.
For me, the X100 works for me like my Leica M's.
That's all I care about. It does the job very well with no intrusion whatsoever.

Ya know.... The difference between the X100 & a Leica M is not much different that say between the M3/M4....M4/M6 etc...
All different but share a common handling.
It's a ground breaking camera the X100 is. To be perfectly truthful, If it lasted, I wouldn't need another camera forever...
That's how satisfied I am with it.

Don - How many times have you changed your camera over the past two years, (never mind the last 5)?

HI David
Thanks for the post. I always enjoy Steve's stuff - he's rather like Ken Rockwell with good taste!
The X100 is excellent if you're happy with 35mm and 12mp with an AA filter (which is a perfectly sensible thing to be happy with).
I took around 1000 shots with mine, and not being happy with either of those things it went away . . . but then I shoot a LOT of foliage in the middle distance, and that's where the difference really shows up.

Don never changed his cameras before. He just had a string of transitional loaners until this one appeared. This one was always gonna be his camera. This may sound sarcastic, but it really isn't except in the very lightest sense - I don't think I ever talked (or wrote) about cameras with Don when something very much like the X100 wasn't his fantasy camera. And then it happened.

Bill,
Changing cameras is not my problem. It's the makers problems that I inherit when I use their camera. The X100 as Ray & BB stated about me is exactly correct.
