I finally gave in. I found a great deal on a new OIS II version, and it's on its way to me. I've been using the Vivitar 70-150 Close Focus a lot on both my X-T1 and Lumix G1. I've gotten some excellent images, but missed focus on some, too, including a huge Crane that flew over me this weekend. I caught the movement out of my peripheral vision as I was photographing Monarch butterflies. I looked up and saw the Crane, and before I could twist the focus ring from Close Focus to long distance, the bird was gone. Bummer, but it happens. The 50-230 is both shorter and lighter than the legacy Vivitar lens. Although I do a lot of wide angle and close focus stuff, I do find myself needing a longer reach sometimes. The 50-230 II should fill the bill nicely. I blame Kyle for all of the great images he's posted from his 50-230. So my two-lens kit is going to be the 50-230 and 23mm WR.
