Fuji Only 2 Lenses to choose

Bargains are ESPECIALLY easy to find if you don't care about having a silver one. Kids ordered the XM1 to take selfies, and some of them came with both XC kit lenses in silver. They have no use for that long lens.

How is the mount on the 50-230mm? I know it's plastic, but I had a slip and fall(I fell) while holding my X-E1 and 16-50mm and the mount broke. :-/ These prices are pretty tempting enough to have me saying maybe. I am kind of tired of using my Vivitar Series 1 70-21mm f3.5 for wildlife(mostly because the adapter requires a little effort to focus to infinity). Just kind of worried the f6.7 at the long end maybe a little slow?

The mount is probably the same as the smaller XC zoom. It's plastic, and there's the slightest little give to it when it's clicked in, but I've never had it cause any actual problem. Mine's been dropped as well, from about 6 feet up onto hardwood (I thought "well, damn, there goes that lens, at least it wasn't expensive), and it's still perfect.

That's good to know. I slipped backwards and landed on my seat and the camera on me(if I remember correctly bottom of the camera with the grip on) and that's how a small part of the mount just broke. I think I may just go for it if I see it for $150. How does AF compare to the 18-55mm?

I've done a complete overhaul.
18, both 35s and 90 are gone. Plus a Samyang 12mm.

16mm 1.4, 23mm f2, and 56mm.
This may be my favorite set up to date. Of many.
Simple, potent, relevant and very satisfying.

If I am shooting a 2 prime kit, the 16/56 is my favorite also. Such an amazing combination.

I finally gave in. I found a great deal on a new OIS II version, and it's on its way to me. I've been using the Vivitar 70-150 Close Focus a lot on both my X-T1 and Lumix G1. I've gotten some excellent images, but missed focus on some, too, including a huge Crane that flew over me this weekend. I caught the movement out of my peripheral vision as I was photographing Monarch butterflies. I looked up and saw the Crane, and before I could twist the focus ring from Close Focus to long distance, the bird was gone. Bummer, but it happens. The 50-230 is both shorter and lighter than the legacy Vivitar lens. Although I do a lot of wide angle and close focus stuff, I do find myself needing a longer reach sometimes. The 50-230 II should fill the bill nicely. I blame Kyle for all of the great images he's posted from his 50-230. So my two-lens kit is going to be the 50-230 and 23mm WR.

Go Tony! Enjoy taking great telephoto shots in your clean, dry clothes after having eaten on clean dishes! :2thumbs:

I'm still finding the 16-55/50-140 to be an invaluable 2 lens kit. I had considered selling them for a prime kit since I retired from event work. But they have been amazing for everything else I have been shooting.

I had originally planned to keep the XF 18mm & 60mm as my duo, but decided to sell them to fund the 23mm WR, then added the 50-230 II. I used to love shooting the various mirrorless cameras I've owned with legacy lenses, but doing so with a legacy tele-zoom definitely throws some complication in the works. I missed some shots due to camera shake this weekend. I'm in my late 50s, and I'm finding AF and IS to be quite useful these days.

My 2 lens kit from the outset, to complement the XT2, is the 16-55 and the 50-140, which I didn't realise came with a TC1.4 in the package (a bit like I didn't know the XT2 came with a little flash). Those two lenses will cover 90% or more of every situation I will need to cover.
