Fuji Possible X-Pro 2 firmware update

Given how problematic the implementation in the X100F turned out for me, I'm not looking forward to this solution. ISO on the front dial just keeps being changed by mistake, it's a nightmare, soI have actually disabled it on my X100F and am back to the cumbersome manual ISO dial.

My solution is to put ISO on the Auto-ISO menu, which can be put on any Fn button. It's pretty much impossible to change a Fn-button menu by mistake, but it's almost as quick as the command dial solution. Heck, Fuji could offer both versions as options, so everybody gets what they want.

Really keen on the copyright thing... I dunno why... it just seems like a more grown up camera if you can do that with it.

Assuming that the ISO on the front dial thing does come to the XP2, I'll be sticking with the physical dial, it doesn't bother me in the way I work (I tend to be either on a single fixed ISO value or auto - YMMV of course)

Not that what I want matters... like the rest of us, I can either take what Fuji gives me and be happy or not, it's down to me, not down to Fuji...

However... I REALLY want that *bleeping* (expletive censored) shutter lag in ERF mode gone, and to a slightly lesser extent, the metering in ERF to work properly too (I have a feeling the 2 things are linked)

So if anyone out there has a X100F, knows a thing a or two about Fuji, perhaps is a popular author of excellent Fuji X guides (ahem Rico)

I have to ask, does the X100F do that ERF shutter lag thing too?

My HUNCH is that if it's fixed in the X100F, then it MIGHT come the way of XP2 users, but if not... well... expletive censored

the recently released x-t20 has the af-c custom settings and 4k video of the x-t2. why can't the x-pro2 have that as well? is it still related to the heat sink? if it is, then does that mean that they were able to fit a better heat sink in the x-t20 and not the x-pro2? ;)

There are two points here. The heat sink issue is real and can't be wished away. The X-T2 dissipates heat more efficiently. Fuji have said that the X-Pro2 could shoot 4k but only in short bursts, and they won't allow that compromise.

The second point is philosophical. The X-Pro range is aimed at stills photographers. The X-T range is more general in it's applications. Fuji recognise the importance to some people of a converged device shooting stills and video and the X-T2 and X-T20 are clearly positioned to answer that need.

Me, I would buy an X-Pro2s with no video capability at all in a heartbeat...

With 4k video, touch screen controls, size of the body, price, and superior while much cheaper lenses. The T20 is aimed at would be Sony a6500 purchasers. The lower price, lenses, and much better controls/menu make the T20 a no brainer.

i agree that the x-t line is designed to address the photo-video hybrid users, but then i think the af-c custom settings should make it's way into the x-pro2 at some point. i'm fine with no video too
