I just came across a website called Shotkit today where various photographers covering different types of photography discuss what gear they use, why they use it, and provide a little background about themselves. For the gear porn lovers, the photographers also post a photo of their gear (along with actual work done by the photographers too).

It's a very nicely put together site with interesting info for gearheads and with some good accompanying photos.

I've only browsed through three photographers pages so far. All three of them use mirrorless systems (2 Fuji, 1 m4/3). I will likely be spending a lot of time browsing and feeding the GAS.

Shotkit - Inside the Camera Bags of the World's Best Photographers

Interesting. I went through about 16-20 of them, looking at their kits. Non-scientific: about 1/2 were Canon FF, 2 Fuji (1 Fuji only, 1 w/Nikon mix) and the rest split between Nikon and Sony, with a slight edge to Sony (maybe 1 more Sony than Nikon). Two Sony body users, but with Nikon (1) and Canon (1) lenses. No m43 :(

Canon is boring, but if you are using Flash, it is VERY dependable and reliable, with an awesome pro network, so that makes a lot of sense. The Sony presence vs. Nikon was pretty eye-opening. I'd love it if they made charts and graphs, lol. If nothing more than just perverse perusal.

Here's the photojournalist that uses m4/3 (EM1ii). Urgh ... this is just stoking way too much GAS.

Oh, hey. I see you can select the type of photography from the "photographers" menu. Out of the first 8 photojournalists, 3 had m43. When looking at travel and street, in both cases 2 of the first 8 were m43 (lot of Fuji in street).

Photojournalism intrigues me. That's why I gravitated towards that category from the get go. I like seeing a wide variety of cameras being used by "pros."
