Fuji Rokinon 12mm f2

Thanks RT, I am trying to see more in B/W and learning what works and what doesn't. At least with raw I always have a back up. :)

I got this lens in December. I'm finding it very difficult to remove it from my X-T1. It is an amazing lens!

I just used it again last night to shoot video while biking in rain. It was complicated... had a plastic cover over the front bucket of the cargo bike, wife was pedaling, daughter and I sat up front, she held the cover over me. At first I was using the 18-55, but eventually I swapped for the Rokinon 12, and it was much, much better. The direct focus link (vs drive-by-wire), the extra stop (2 vs 2.8), and the calming effect of the extra width on bumps and motion... it was delightful.

These are really clean images. The Roki and the Samy have me thinking. This may be my first purchase for the short haul. Very nice.

Is there any difference in the Rokinon and Samyang besides about 80 bucks on Amazon?

I bought one last week and just returned it - everything other than the centre of every image I took was mush, even stopped down. Guess I got a bad one, but it's put me off ever buying another Samyang.

Love the cat. Clever little thing, and asking so nicely by the looks of it :)

I've been wondering about getting a Rokinon 12mm for astro photography. I'm never going to get astrotracers and specialised gear, but for occasional shots of the milky way, it seems that 12mm might be just the ticket. or 10? or 8?

The rokinon/samyang 12mm is one of the most highly rated lenses for astro if you have an aps-c camera.
