Film What FILM (!) photography related item did you buy this week?

Having a big clear out. I sold the Minolta X-700 and bought this P30t...absolutely mint condition. Plus I can also use the 50mm lens on my newly acquired K-S2 :)

I can tell you what's going in the bin - the Minolta Vectis S-1 and expired APS film I bought for it. I've just had the images back from the lab. Oy, what a disaster. Out of focus, light leaks, scratches, colours all over the place. I don't think there is a usable image even as "lomo". At least the camera was only 99p and the film a few quid.

I got my second (and last) 110 camera, a Rollei A110. After discovering this came with a Tessar lens, I had to try one. But it's not as if I saw a lot of future in 110 film. It's intriguingly small, but that's about it for benefits (though this can be quite a considerable one). Still waiting for the film to use with it, but I think it'll just be a test roll or two. Not binning the two 110 cameras, though - very nice pieces of engineering ...

Same thing happened to me a few months ago, I had a roll of APS which was tucked away in a drawer somewhere, it wasn't even mine, I had it developed and gosh it was awful! I just scrapped the negatives and all of the scans.

Hi,

It still is a bit lighter than the Pentax 6x7, but doesn’t feel like much. :)

All the F4 have winder, but come with three different grips. This is the intermediate one, already with vertical shutter release button, but not as much FPS as the bigger grip. This configuration makes it an F4S.

I bought it after selling the FA. Looking for an electronic option, this enabled also to replace the F90X that I used with grip, but with more features and especially able to use non AI lenses. The value for which I sold the FA is roughly the same I paid for the F4S in great shape plus the 50mm 1.8 AF.

... which is crazy, really. But very good for you, so I won't complain ...

Two rolls of Agfa Precisa slide film, must try my hand at this sometime soon, even though it's a bit of a costly affair, as the E6 developing lab is in another city/province so it will have to shipped over and back.

Last week, I calibrated my monitor with a Color Munki spectrophotometre (the mid-range display model), and then sent off some prints to the lab, a first time for me printing anything I have shot since I took up photography as an adult. I got the prints back today, I am very pleased with the results, will have to check it against the calibrated screen tonight to see how closely they match. It was printed on a Fuji printer, as the lab is a Fuji lab (I think).

Edit: The prints were quite close but I noticed some details in the shadows were not as good as on screen, but they weren't bad either. I have since found out that soft proofing in Lightroom is not such a bad idea :). Lots to learn!
