Fuji RAW conversion with Fuji files.

Opinions over whether the average user will ecer notice the lightroom worms vary. It's clear that the LRW exist, and that other developers - iridient, capture one and raw therapee get particularly good reviews in this regard - do better to the critical eye.

DxO refuses to develop Fuji raws so that's only an option if you are willing to pre-demosaic using another piece of software (fuji also has its own xtrans developer that you could use to create a tiff).

We have a thread going in the Fuji section about the Lightroom worms with sample photos. Bottom line is that you won’t really see it without pixel peeping. At least on the 24mp sensor the in camera jpgs look the best for sharpening.

The LRW was what prompted my question although I parted ways with Adobe last year. It's a pity about DxO as I like EditLab a lot. I'm not a 200% peeper.

I’ve been tinkering with the settings in LR and getting the files to look better. I am working in LR as that has been the easiest editor for me to maintain a consistent look between my sooc jpgs and edited raw files.

If not using Adobe, my go to is Capture One. OnOne Raw is worth checking out.

I have an X100F.
And LR 5.7.
Just went through a process to find a solution with the least amount of learning and $$.

LRCC. Got a chance to try a friends. Nice results. Workflow would be unaffected. Just not willing to pay $10 a month indefinitely.

LR5 with Adobe DNG. Did it briefly last year with an X-E2s. The added conversion step is painless. It's free. Tried it again. Not bad but like last time not impressed with the results.

Sony Capture One. Upgrade credit not available for full version since it was free. Liked it a lot with the A7ii. $$Pricey for me.

DXO. Purchased on discount. Liked it a lot with my Pentax gear. No Fuji support? Wow - in a bad way.

Fuji XRAW. Not bad. You can shoot RAW and convert to simulations with the help of the camera processor. Oddish procedure but not bad. Free.

ON1 Photo RAW. Not bad. A little clunky. Default sharpening too aggressive imo.

Luminar. Tried it and liked it. DAM on the way. This will probably replace my current workflow.

Which is Iridient Transformer to LR 5.7. I like the conversions. It has an exif editor so I can trick LR 5.7 into thinking I have an X100T and it allows me to use LR's Fuji profiles.
Affordable.

Or jpeg. Which I actually shoot almost exclusively now. But I've become lazy. ( :

Agree Capture One is pricey. They want over $400AUD to upgrade from Sony v9 to Full v11 and that's not happening. Finally have On1 working again no thanks to Win 10 v1803. Also looking forward to Luminar with DAM.

I agree that Capture One is pricey but the articles I've read recently suggest that it handles the demosaicing of Fuji files better than anything else. I just can't get to grips with the workflow using Capture One. Even the basic question like using Sessions or catalogue has me scratching my head.

I've just tested and purchased Iridient X-Transformer which is a Windows app that converts .RAF to .dng using the Iridient for Mac profiles. To my eyes it handles the colours and details better than opening the RAFs in On1/Luminar. Dxo still won't recognise the dngs but Adobe apps will (it installs a LR plugin for round trips). Cost is $30USD.

I tried out Iridient X. And I agree that it does work very well. But for me, it is an extra step I don't want to do. For me, I am going to keep tweaking LR settings and hope that Adobe improves how LR handles Fuji files.
