SiJy 2019 Day 19

Day 19. Another day of the heat wave in the U.S. right now. 100 degrees Farenheit is too hot for Colorado Springs. So, updated my avatar since I am feeling like getting "back in the saddle". That will have to be my shot for today, I'm not going out in this heat.

@MoonMind and @NoSeconds and @davidzvi, thanks for helping me over my little bump yesterday. I am now back to learning to fall in love with the E-M5.2's little oddities and ways. It is a relationship after all. And it's probably learning how to work with a old recovering photographer.

Living in the North has many advantages but also disadvantages. One of the latter is that we don't have forests of hardwoods, e.g. oaks, except on the narrow sector at Southern Finland. I visited my uncle's summer cottage at the southern archipelago, they own an island there, and the oaks I remember well have grown since the last visit, 20 years ago. Now those are massive trees giving needed shadow on a hot summer day. Paradise

Here in The Netherlands I tend to avoid oak trees in particular because they can be infested by oak processionary caterpillars, the hairs of which cause very annoying itches.

Ha, I loved it when you wrote 'they own island there". That sounds like a dream come true.

Actually it is, I wish I could share more of the beauty of it. But it also requires awful lot of work to keep it in a tidy condition. And on winter time, it is harsh place to visit, and midwinter unreachable. Better to just visit once in a while and enjoy :)

Sorry I am a few days late, I have been taking pictures but have had no access to mobile signal or internet. We spent the weekend up in Clumber Park (Notts) in our new acquisition.

Here's the dog settling in on my daughter's bunk (though I think that the dog considers it her bed and "allows" my daughter to share it with her).
