Fuji Let's start talking about the X-Pro 3

When I do not need to worry about the exposure too much (clipping the histo on either end) or want to see what the film simulation is looking like, I'm using the OVF on the XPro-2. Especially when shooting outside and I'm wearing sun glasses.

I find it works just fine, but then again, I still like the OVF from my Nikon DSLRs.

I have access to a 100f to try for comparison. But it may be a few days before I can get to it. I’ll have a 23mm f2 today. So when I do test them side by side, it will be as even as possible.

From the stuff I’ve read. Fuji has greatly improved everything from the OVF to the AF in the Pro3.
Evidently not everyone is happy with the new way the OVF handles the AF point indicator:
The explanation is about halfway down.

There are also some indications that the Duratech coating is a dust/fingerprint/grease magnet. We'll see how this develops as others get the camera.

I always use spot focus and recompose. That amount of oversharing of information would drive me nuts. One of the reasons I love the X-Pros and my M and Barnack Leicas before them was because I can see my subject while shooting.

Duracoat scratch test:

Well, with how little I use my cameras (or how much I baby them), I never get scratches. But those greasy smudgy marks are kinda gross. I think that would have me leaning towards the black.....except that I prefer the look of the silver.

Sometimes coming up with ridiculous reasons to NOT buy one is a good defense against GAS.

I'll just say it again: if I had to dive in from scratch, with no other cameras or camera systems (that I already owned, was using, and really loved), I would go into debt to spring for an X-Pro3. But, honestly, not for the technical advances or the cool stuff under the hood - but for the simple old-fashioned joys of having a well-built rangefinder-style body, with a great EVF, and with no irritating rear screen to distract me from the photographic experience of putting my eye to the viewfinder every time I wanted to shoot....

But no! Wait a minute! I must be suffering from photographic dementia....because I think....I already own that camera -
