My X-T1 arrived today, just 2 days after purchasing it. As the XF 23 WR hasn't arrived yet, I mounted a Flektogon 35mm f2.4 and M42-FX adapter, both of which I've had for quite a while and never bothered to try selling. I clearly need to work on my MF technique with this lens, as I have no trouble getting clear, sharp images with the GX9 and Pen F 38/1.8.

As I understand it, the beauty of the the Flektogon is it's ability to focus really close, way closer than other legacy or rangefinder lenses, with one of the best ever bokeh blurs, which is not immediately obvious from an F2.4 aperture, but easily achived due to that close focusing ability. Sort of made for focus peaking. I do miss using my old Takumars and AI-S lenses with the X-T1 I used to have and will be checking used A7RII prices next year in the hope of even further price drops.

Hello Modestine – Chabalier - Chemin de Stevenson-2018-D6-12 by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

Having ascended La Mourade we continued following the railway line to our next hamlet of Chabalier where we stopped to say hi to Modestine and Mr Stevenson.

Day 6 of 12 - La Bastide-Puylaurent to Chasserades: Walking the Chemin de Stevenson (GR 70 Robert Louis Stevenson Trail) in the south of France.

Ahh, the relief – L’Allier – Chabalier - Chemin de Stevenson-2018-D6-13 by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

Enjoying the waters of the L’Allier not far on from Chabalier. Next stop Chasserades.

Shooting my dear Leica after a prolonged pause. The very first shot is just to check exposure and it's purposefully containing extra elements and stuff. But after the "lesser" (sorry) platforms this rendering is just at a class of its own...

This is heavily cropped so maybe I should also consider a M-Fuji X adapter. I have those ill-behaving M39 lenses that I could use on Fuji's EVF better.

So if you like the Leica rendering so much better, why go to Fuji X? If you're like me, it'll keep itching forever after the changeover to Fuji X :).

Trust me - this subject, it's a recurring battle that has pestered me for a very long time now. The internal war is not going to be won by any one side but I wish it happened some day. My current plan seems to keep accumulating gear on both sides as to mutually assure (financial) destruction if things come to that

Then you're doomed to have two systems that is. I've had a very severe infliction of GAS towards Leica recently, but fought it off successfully. For now. I have stayed with Sony for the last 7 years, which I consider to be quite an achievement :).
