What do you desire this moment, how come and will you do anything about it?

What fancy reasons, made-up or otherwise you are able to tell yourself? :)

Currently it's the Fuji 16/1.4 "Sweet Sixteen" that I desire the most.

I've been shooting Fuji over the weekend and it's been a week since I shot Leica M last. So my financial inner me is raising hopes about maybe coming to senses and downgrading to Fuji from Leica. This means I would complete the holes of my Fuji lens selection. A good reason?

Actually last week (for reasons) I desired the king of UWA, the Leica 21mm Summilux-M f/1.4. Stupid expen-- erh, valuable lens. ;) The amount of dough a second-hand Summilux costs would pay for a very handsome higher-tier selection of Fujinon lenses. Including the superlative 16/1.4.

From the Leica 21mm we get to Fuji 16mm via the approximately similar angle of view, and similarities in light gathering and physical dimensions. Besides, I saw an attractive composition in 24mm-eqv so that's always a reason :D

This purchase is not going to happen but that's the one I've been thinking lately.

Thinking about getting me a Mindshift Rotation Panorama bag. It's a backpack type with an integrated beltpack in order to get access to your gear without having to put down the backpack. Seems ideal for those days when I want to carry more than just a camera and a few lenses. But it's quite expensive, especially when you add the optional photo insert and rain cover, and according to the review on phillipreeve.net your back will get wet in warmer weather as ventilation is not optimal. Decisions, decisions... So far I'm holding my breath for a used one.

Currently seriously thinking of trading my Panny G7 to get a G80, for the IBIS, bigger EVF and Focus Stacking. And then some decent primes and a wide angle zoom. I think the camera and one prime might be doable in time for my son’s wedding next July.

If I had more funds I’d get a Contax G1 and 45mm planar lens.
Hi Martin,
Our younger son is getting married in May so similar thoughts about what we need are constantly under discussion in our home right now too.

Got one of these - love it; I chose the smallest model and can still pack two FF bodies with lenses attached (one in the pouch, one in the main compartment). Ideal for short exploration hikes. If you use the main compartment for provisions, the pouch will still take a smaller body and a couple of lenses (or a couple of smaller bodies with lenses attached). Very practical, and very comfortable, too.

@addieleman I had the blue mindshift bag for several years. Use it for offroad events, beach stuff, landscapes, etc. It is an excellent bag.

Ouch, your answers are going to hurt my wallet :). But seriously, thanks, that bag seems to fit the bill perfectly then.

I'm fighting some GAS, but most of it's for desire rather than need. I need a new main ILC body, probably M4/3 and most likely Panasonic, since selling my GX85. Really I'm looking for a better EVF. The G9 calls out to me a lot with its top-tier quality level, but it's also a bit large, and if I shoot street I'm a bit worried about getting more attention than I did with a small RF-style camera. However, I have the Ricoh GR III and that is as stealthy as they come, so I could stick to that for street.

I'm also saving a lot of film cameras to my eBay watchlist, but talking myself out of them. For whatever reason, I am finding the Bessa T anniversary kits with 50mm f3.5 Heliar and 50mm viewfinder very enticing, it just looks like it would be a lot of fun to shoot and a slower, more methodical shooting style that I enjoy sometimes (or, scale focusing and shooting very fast with the quick eye acquisition and brightness of the separate viewfinder).

Would like to first try, then buy an Olympus MC-20 teleconverter if it's sharp enough and it ever goes on sale for $500 CDN. I have an MC-14 already so am not hurting for pretty good options at this point.

I don't know how much Leica gear you have. But if you find it difficult to walk away from the brand, would selling off all of your current Leica gear fund the purchase of a Q2? That way, you'd still be able to shoot Leica without having to purchase any more stupid expen -- erh, valuable -- lenses. And with 47mp, you'd be able to crop well into the frame. That could clear the way for future purchases to be Fuji.

It is a sound idea. But I came from that place -- shot a Leica Q and the Olympus PEN-F on the side. Life was good.

It was extremely good in fact. Only needed two lenses for PEN-F to complement Q and my entire camera-lens selection fit in my EDC.

But humans like myself like to ruin good things for themselves -- when I tasted the sweet M goodness I quickly realized that Leica Q just won't satisfy after this.

The Fuji setup that I currently own, I didn't buy for myself. It's all traded for the Leica Q. I couldn't get it sold for cash money so I welcomed the trade.

An X-H1 in 9+ condition. Member who has one listed on the Classifieds must have fallen off the planet! Guess I must keep looking........:(

I got very lucky last week. Bought one from a friend that order the 8-16 kit. old it to me. Brand new. Sealed box. Body, Grip, 3 batteries and all accessories that came with it for $800. Deal of the century for me. It was a no brainer even though I had 7 other misc Fuji X bodies.

Having this irrational desire for Nikon D4. Luckily it's so irrational it's not going to happen! 😃

I guess I saw a video where a man shot night street with the D4 and a 28/1.4 and I'm like, whoah.

But yeah, it's a big hulking mass and weight, totally not my style. And not that cheap either, especially for an older body. You can score a Leica Q for less than a D4+28/1.4 and Q is guaranteed satisfaction. But I know Q and I don't know D4, that's part of the appeal. I guess I have a thing for flagship models.

How difficult would it be to build an ultrafast 18mm for APS-C image circle? A Fujinon 18/1.0 could be great. Nobody ever goes wider than certain threshold around 50mm equivalent. I guess it gets impossible after that to improve.

I guess you mean this video. I watched the whole of it and found it very inspiring; he likes to show "the grit of the city", which thoroughly appeals to me :). Fortunately, it didn't cause GAS with me, don't see myself walking around with something like a Nikon D4. Now if Zeiss would make a 28mm Loxia, that would most likely put a dent in my photogear savings.
