There's a new player on the market, and it's looking good! TTArtisan has some new designs that tickle my interest better than what they currently have.

A really good looking and capable 35 f/1.4 for ~$400

A twit of a rumor speculates about a 21mm f/1.5 which could be absurdly amazing.

Agreed in principle. What I still find somewhat weird (but maybe I'm mistaken) is that they call it a 8/7 configuration - while the schematics only show seven lenses in (possibly) a 7/6 configuration. It may be that I missed a glued element somewhere, but that should show, shouldn't it? Who's fooling whom here?

The results are certainly interesting though, especially compared to the itself quite satisfying 7Artisans 35mm f/2 (which is cheaper as well as considerably smaller and lighter). I'll stick with my two 35mm f/1.4 lenses (Voigtländer Nokton Classic M.C. and Zeiss Distagon) for the time being, but it's quite a compelling debut.

If you don't own a fast 35mm lens yet, this might make quite a nice option! It's sharper than the (smaller, but slightly more expensive) Nokton Classic (II) can ever get wide open, and I don't see any mention of focus shift, so even if it is there, it's probably not major.

Your English is great, Matt. Was there something unclear in my post? I had heard that the company 7Artisans came up with their name because when they started designing lenses, there were 8 main enthusiasts who formed the company, before the business took off, one of them left over some disagreement and that was where the name 7 Artisans came from. Of course, all my knowledge of this story is second hand so take it with a grain of salt.

@Luke Nah, I just misread/misunderstood the colloquialism because I hadn't come across it before! But in hindsight, it is crystal clear - and a nice piece of impromptu imagination and storytelling I sadly ruined. Sorry for that. :/ Certainly none of your fault.

The rear group shows a doublet, I suspect the aspherical element is shown in yellow. It is very thin, which would make sense with a molded aspherical element cemented to a spherical/thicker element. I count 8 elements in 7 groups.

For the name- I've read that this is just another distributor for the same company manufacturing the 7Artisans lenses, they certainly look very similar.

The outer designs look the same, the name of course resembles 7A. But there's an air of mystery about what's the real situation behind this new name.

My mechanical engineer loved the term "Cheese-Wiz" solution for a quick-fix that worked and got the job done.

I would rethink this name. The minions will laugh too hard with "TT" in the name. Maybe the person forming the company knew this, and figured the name would get a laugh from any kid reading the name on the lens.
