1- several people have been kind enough to give me thumbs up on a post. I’d like to thank them but, I can’t find the heart emoji...how can I fix?

2- I posted a portrait that was in proper orientation...from the very first moment it’s been rotated 90 degrees clockwise. How do I fix this?

I’m a technotwit so PLEASE keep answers simple enough that even I can follow.

THANKS

Did you upload your photo from an iPad/phone? iOS can be temperamental that way.

As Bilzmale mentions, it's the "Like" button. If you're on a desktop browser hover over the "Like" link in the bottom-right of the post and you should see a pop-up with the different options. If you're on a mobile device browser do a long click (touch "Like" and hold for a second or so) and the pop-up should appear then. If it still gives you a problem just let us know what device you're using and we'll talk you through it. :)

As TheOldSmithy mentions, iPad/iOS devices can be a bit temperamental. The forum software usually tries to take the orientation into account so it can be displayed correctly when viewing it but sometimes it doesn't work as planned. If you let me know where you posted the pic I can take a look to see if there is anything we can do do (eg: is the forum software not looking at the "orientation" tag or is the tag missing, etc.).

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.
First the easy item... orientation problem is definitely iOS/iPad fault. "Portrait" post #481` is in proper orientation when viewed using my Mac desktop/OS puter. I may try deleting via iOS and reposting same way; just to see if it's a temperament problem. (But it's not a teenager yet!)

Second item...I omitted some info in my post. The problem is that the "like" option disappears on my posts, no matter whether it's an initial post-as above- or a reply to someone else's thread. It remains a viable option on every one else's posts. This occurs here and MU-43 sister-site; all the way back to my first post.
Note: happened with this post which is from my desktop.

Wait, are you trying to 'Like' your own posts? 🤔

@Kevin, kinda. I’m trying add a “heart” next to the thumbs ups I’ve received.
Look at ‘Seen while strolling...’ page 160 post 3,189. Image received well deserved ‘likes’, ‘winner’ etc. poster expressed thanks by adding a/an ‘heart/appreciate. That’s what I’d like to do. I’d like to say ‘Thank you’.

@Luke , What I’m saying is that there is NO like button/tab/option available on any of my posts. For example: in lower right corner of your post there are—‘like’, ‘quote’ ‘reply’` options. On my posts there is no ‘like’ option (with the heart emoji.). There are only ‘quote’ and ‘reply’ options. The missing ‘like’ option has the ‘heart’ emoji.

Would copy and paste from a different page work?

Hope I’m a bit clearer.

Ok i was wrong. A closer look at the above cited use of a ‘heart’ shows that thee heart was added by a different member. Why someone would do that is beyond me. Though, I do believe I’ve seen the ‘heart’ ‘appreciate’ used as a thank you...

If you want to thank people for liking your post. You will have to type a reply, use the @ symbol, then type the person's screen name and it will tag them. Then simply type a thank you. Even if you could hit the heart symbol, it doesn't show up to anyone else as anything except you appreciating, liking, etc. your own post.
