GAS GAS: Please Share your Latest Acquisitions Big and Small

This was in a car boot sale in South East London and the guy, who really had no idea of its value, said ten pounds. I only got it because the lens on the camera is a Super-Takumar 55mm F2. I know from reviews of this lens as well as my ownership of the Super-Takumar 50mm F1.4 that this is one fine lens, full of radiation filled "character" and zeiss quality bokeh. I don't really need it atm and I don't even have a body, let alone an adapter for it to go on, but could you really walk past it at that price? I thought this kind of luck only happened to other people.

Old memories come up. This was my second camera in my youth after the Kodak Instamatic. With three lenses it offered a new world. And it is still in best working condition. The OM-4 that took over was much lighter and had spot (multi) metering and some other goodies.

What were the other two lenses?

Picked up a nice German Rollei 35 at an estate sale for $30. The hot shoe is bent a little, but II can fix that, otherwise, it works perfectly.

It was the "classic" setup of those times on the Super TL: 2,8/35mm, 1,8/50mm and I think the 2,8/135mm (these last two are somewhere in the basement). Doesn't look bad with half a century gone.

And as the always-with-me camera for the pocket I had the fantastic Minox 35 GT . I had preferred that to the Rollei 35 as it was more compact, the lens was safe when you had it in the pocket and the energy was switched off. And you had the 1/60 sec, as mechanical option when the batteries were exhausted.
The Kodachrome and Ektachrome slides still look OK, the Agfa have lost their colour, mostly brown-sepia tones have survived.
Yes, those ancient times when you waited for almost two weeks to see your results ... after you had all put them in the slide frames.

Feeling so bare with just one camera system in the house (Leica M) I feel I absolutely need a second one. And this time let the budget reflect that requirement -- it should be a strictly secondary system. Ideally it should be so cheap that I literally will not care if it just gathers dust in the box or not. Best case scenario, I get a good ride out of that camera.

I'm going for either an Olympus E-PL5 or E-PM2 right now. I already have the Panasonic 35-100 but it doesn't have close focusing at all, so I'm scoring the Panasonic pancake 12-32. LOVE me some pancake! his will come to a total of 119-129 € depending which deal on the body I can pull.

E: the final outcome: a black E-PL5.

WD My Passport Wireless Pro.

This is a 2-terabyte portable harddrive that can back up an SD card without the aid of a computer nearby. Perfect for week+-long trips because I'm not a computer-carrying kind of a guy.

This can make backups from itself to the clouds, although this is not super relevant for my uses.

I'll also study if I can make this thing back up further down to another USB hard drive.

I have one for a few years now, bought when we went to the US for a holiday and I wanted a small backup facility. Simply works great, including the apps for iPhone and iPad and the desktop website.

Ugh, GAS struck again! The good thing is for each new thing I acquire I actually sell something to make space! My latest acquisition is a Nikon 45mm f/2.8 P in rare black. It came with the OEM hood, lens filter and lens cap. I bought it for a very good price and it arrived looking like a 9+1/10! I have no intention of shooting the lens in manual focus, it's going to be shot all AF! :D

None of these lenses are ultra rare or that expensive. I think I bought all these lenses way under market value from some luck Ebay bids and just careful searching at both online and retail stores. Also I don't collect these lenses, if I find a lens doesn't get any use I do eventually sell them. Saying that I do have an appreciation for old Nikkors!

Careful. I've had one of them and was very pleased but the quality control was awful, ie the shutter button (it *will* eventually fall off and be lost) and the back LCD which will just freeze and stop working. I replaced it with an E-P5 which was much much better. I don't know what the used price difference between the two is, but it's certainly worth a look. The VF4 that goes with it is quite magnificent too.

Nice.
In that condition they have a wonderful look to them.

A6000.
A little redundancy and flexibility for a nice price.
I like 28 and this odd couple(Samyang 18) seems like they were meant for each other.

Nice! Awhile back I picked up a minty used NEX-5R for my daughter and have tried putting the 18mm 2.8 on there and it works great! BTW - I'm a little paranoid using the Samyang hoods. There are no replacements available for purchase, so I just use a 58mm to 62mm step-up adapter as front lens protection!

After nine and a half years of living in Sony camp, yesterday I crossed to the dark side: I got me LA NIÑA NEGRA, a Fuji XE2 in black with 27mm f2.8 lens, to replace my dying Sony RX100 mk1 as a compact and lightweight all-around travelling camera. I'm awaiting a M39 adapter too, as I suspect that pairing it with my Jupiter 8 50mm f2 might also work very well, still keeping everything portable and sweet.
