Thought I had some White-winged Dove images until I started to process. Small twig I didn't notice while shooting, slightly OOF and running right in front of the dove's head. No other bird shots today, so on to some tabletop stuff.

Patterned steel from the first run of ESEE's "Damascus" Izula small utility knives from a few years ago. This is very close to the same size as my old Swiss Army Knife Camper.

I love small fixed blades. That's a beautiful knife.

I know I said I would probably use the Panasonic 20mm, but that's because I'm very familiar with it. For at least the beginning, I'm going to try and use the Sigma 30mm f1.4 and see how I get along with it.

Trying to see if I can make the GX9 and 30mm feel "filmic" by using L Monochrome D with some other in-camera JPEG processing to try and tone down the digital-ness. I used a yellow filter setting, reduced contrast and sharpness, and added "low" grain to the in-cam process. Not sure I like Panasonic's grain setting, but we'll see how it goes.

I love L Monochrome D. I keep it on my GX9 and look at the world this way, shooting raw only and switching to a different profile in post. or just keeping it that way.
