Fuji Showcase XC 50-230 Samples

A few from earlier today, this lens is back to being a worthy member of the team (now that I have tamed the AF-C settings in the X-T3).

This is uncropped and is one of the better 'action' pictures I've managed to get of our greyhound (not sure if my technique has improved, or if it is because she's slowing down now that she is eight).

Another 'cross race this past weekend. First one we've gone to this year. Timing was limited so I skipped my morning race, but wife and daughter raced, and did well. XT1 with 50-230 here.

The big "N" they had to ride through stands for Ninkasi Brewery, who puts on this race at a farm every year.

Another Emma Poole in the making? If you aren't familiar with her, she's a former presenter on the Global Cycling Network channel. Tiny and soft-spoken, she is a force when climbing. A former world record holder in time trials, the guys on GCN used to grumble when they had to ride with Emma because they said they couldn't keep up with her.

I am happy to report that after dropping my camera with the 50-230 mounted into wet sand. The 50-230 continued to function normally. I did have to remove a bunch of sand though.

This is the version one lens. I bought it six years ago almost to the day, while visiting friends in Adelaide, Australia. It cost me AU$275 new, and the performance has far eclipsed the price.

It really is a nice lens. I’ve had this lens for a few years now. I’ve used it from sports to dance to Indy car racing. It gives me nice photos and it is light in weight. Can’t ask for anything more from the plastic fantastic.
