Bokeh!

I need these balls. Please tell me this is the CV 35 Nokton Classic. 😎 That lens is already on my shortlist.
It is :) It's the original version, though, not the Mk II that's already out, so: even more bokeh action ... This isone of my preferred lenses on film, but this time, I used the M8 ... I have a step-up ring for the UV/IR filter coming to reign in those hot greens (which are also apparent in b&w at times). Other than that, it was a very enjoyable experience.

I find out of focus areas in front of the point of focus intriguing.
Very true, front focus, commonly at the back or preferably both, it's the quality of the lens and relevant focus distance relevant to that particular lens that seems to count and I'm at the stage where I *think* I know which of my lenses are better then the other than the other for that. A learning process for sure.

True.
I think the subject needs to have sufficient "weight" as well for front bokeh to work.
I also seem to get the best results when I go 'on feeling' rather than 'on ratio'. As usual in my case :)
