Fuji Fuji XF 27 MkII

Still a bit too small, controls are small and cramped together. For me, my hands, my fingers. Only problem I have with Fuji, otherwise I really like what they've been doing.
That makes sense now. My hands are pretty average or even on the small side so the XH1 is perfect with the 16-80 and especially with the grip. It’s a big package, however, so I still use the X100v around school.

I not a large guy and never really thought of my hands as large, but when I was younger I could palm a basketball, and the Pentax K-1 and 645 DMF cameras fit me hands perfectly. o_O

That said, I'm really hoping there's some official news on this lens soon(ish).

When I shot more mu43 cameras, the magic lens was the Lumix 20 mm f1.7. Small, light, and wonderfully sharp. I bought that lens three times. One I sold and regretted and another I gave to my sister with my E-M10 ii. It focused slowly because all the elements moved as a unit. The current 27 is very much the Fuji sibling for that lens, except it focuses faster. I'd have to try it, but I suspect it will be a bit fiddly to use an aperture ring on a lens that thin. Mine sits on the X-T30 and I use the rear dial to change aperture. IMHO, all the lens mounts need a really good pancake 2.8 or faster in the 35-50 mme range.

I've used aperture rings on lenses considerably smaller than this - I'd say go!

Couldn't agree more about the pancakes.

I used Pentax exclusively when I used film cameras, and they were the King of Pancakes. I picked up an MV1 in San Francisco for $100 in the early 1980's. It came with the old M40 2.8. It had an razor thin focus ring (MF lens, of course) that was only a little grinding away from being a serrated edge. When I look back on my life long hobby, it's one of my most memorable lenses.

My idea was to replace the current manual focus ring with an aperture ring of more or less the same width; manual focus could be done with a very thin serrated front ring (it's not something I'd use on a regular basis, but of course, YMMV).

Same here. Was really looking forward to that one sooner - want to see how well they improve it.

Also, the upcoming 18mm 1.4 looks a little larger than I had expected. Looks close to the 23mm 1.4 and I had hoped they could get somewhere between that and the current 18mm f2.

One of the magical things Fuji does is WR. That opens doors that others don't know exist. The 27 is a beautiful FOV and if they are upgrading it, it seems to me they missed their own mark. The idea of not being inhibited by your gear seems to go unnoticed. Be blessed all.
It's funny how this differs between different people. I can't even remember the last time I was taking pictures in weather where I would need WR. I just occasionally pop out in the rain and snap a shot on occasion, QWR or not.

I have put the Fuji WR to good use a few times. I have also pressed my luck and photographed in driving rain with non-WR gear, and the gear lived through the ordeal. Given the choice, I would prefer WR gear. It is my hope the 27 Mk II has both an aperture ring and WR.
