Anyone bought a Hasselblad 907x yet?

Kind of cool. If I extended my mortgage I might be able to afford one. Hopefully someone will create a cheap knock-off so I can use my Bronica 6x6 lenses. Also noticed the shutter button didn't have a cable release screw-in... seems like an odd oversight.

Wonder if the Sony/Oly screen-less bodies would have performed better if they had optional cases to slot a phone/screen into?

I recall this when it was released. It definitely has an old-school vibe and built-in desirability in the design. I think there are so few truly different ways of shooting in the digital world (form factor, controls, etc.) that this camera could be really compelling. But it's expensive, and from what I've heard kind of slow, with a different crop ratio than a traditional Hassy would have, so when you stick the back on a film body you'll have a tighter focal length. But if they came down enough in price, sure, sign me up!

Different crop ratio? It's not square? I did not expect that, I would've thought the compatability with the old 500 bodies would've made this the next best closest digital version to the old 500cm experience. I thought you can still use the old look-down, waist-level viewfinder.

Boy oh boy, I haven't had GAS for a long time but this one is biting a little. You're right, the price is holding me back.

But really my ultimate for years is - I wish they made a digital Xpan or some kind of a digital Widelux. It would probably cost a shitload but if I could afford it, they would be my dream camera to last the rest of my life.

I think it's more of a 4/3 aspect ratio natively, the sensor size is 43.8X32.9mm. So I think that means not only is it not square, but it crops in quite a bit from what a traditional Hassy film back "sees."

ugggggggh.

You know what, I can live with that. I suppose if we're talking full medium format size of the film variety, the cost of the camera would probably be in the $60k price range. The smaller digital medium format sensors are probably necessary to keep the costs down a bit.

This 907x is really piquing my curiosity.

$11,599 ... not even including lens .... no. :(
