Daily Challenge Day to Day 231

Fun fact (for us boring Europeans): There are 231 cubic inches to a gallon (U.S.) - intuitive, simple, straightforward :)

I also find those two as informative as they are somewhat creepy ...

The nice thing about this is that to them our metric system is as queer as their system is to us. When shopping and cooking / baking in Edinburgh as a student I always had my pocket calculator in the kitchen. Whereas one pound was less than 500g a pint was more than 500ml. I had to keep the latter in mind when we went to the "Golf Tavern" for a wee drink.

Two such projects parallel: what kind of energy booster do you have, Tony?
BTW, the inscription "inside" reminds me of my friend before an minor operation on his leg: he wrote "here" with a big felt pin on the leg where it was supposed to be done and a large X on the other one ... just to make sure.

My ancient (20 years old) Mac laptop still functions - and it still has several of the equally ancient old-school computer games which no longer work on my new Macs - but which are wonderful ways to while away and waste untold minutes and hours. One of my favorites used to be 'Snood'---here it is----

When I first started the guitar, it was one of six instrument projects I had going at once. After a couple of months, it just got too overwhelming, and I set the guitar project aside until I could finish the batch of ukuleles and work on the guitar by itself. I would have never started the new ukulele project if the guitar wasn't so far along.

The "inside" inscription is insurance against my sometimes tendency to make absolutely bone-headed mistakes, like gluing on the wrong side of a piece of wood. You'd think as long as I've been working in wood, I would have eliminated such unforced mistakes.
