Okay, guys, it's finally time for my "traditional" in-challenge selfie (no idea if I posted one before, I just mention this for dramatic effect ;)):

Me letting off steam after a really quite exhausting week - edited differently than I usually do, to at least show willing ...

I just pointed the Z 6 at myself (well, in my general direction, at least), then let Face Recognition/Eye AF do the rest. Cropped only for format ...

The look says everything. ;)
But how come that you have such a perfect hairstyle? I haven't seen a hairdressers' from inside for two months (all closed).

The "Swiss Way" ... As long as masks are worn, many people are still allowed to come close to you when doing their jobs. Hairdressers are among them.

The funny thing is: As far as it's reported to the general public, this doesn't seem to drive the pandemic in any major way. It's one of the reasons I'm pretty sure that if we all adhered to sufficiently strict mask usage, we'd be much better off. At the barber's, they're very disciplined indeed.

However, many, many people just don't keep their masks on when outside or meeting people in private ... For example, I'm the only one wearing a mask when leaving my flat and moving through the house; everyone else talks and laughs maskless in the corridors and when meeting on the stairs, sometimes only an arm's length apart. It's as if they were thinking: "We know one another, we're certainly no danger to each other." It's bizarre, it's sad, and it's frightening. People will only learn from personal suffering in the end, and by the rate we're still going, it's only a question of time when that'll happen (to many of my colleagues, it already has!). And as for meeting only a limited number of people, well ... "If it's us doing it, it can't be wrong. Those rules certainly aren't meant for decent people." It's this attitude that has made Switzerland one of the worst hotspots in Europe - not the very controlled and professionally executed occasional visit at the hairdresser's ... After all, if an outbreak originated there, we'd be informed by contact tracing sooner or later - and I've not heard of any such case yet!

We'll see where all this takes us. From my daily experience, I can tell you that schools definitely present a far, far greater risk to public health than barber shops. Most masks come off as soon as the students leave school premises - and nobody(!) keeps their distance.
