Something I truely didn't know ...

What's behind this is almost history, if a somewhat quirky part of it, and still ongoing: the old three-digit service call numbers, like 911 in the States, 144 in Switzerland - the one that too many had to call lately - or 112 in Europe ... Some things are just too practical to give up.

And here's a flashback along these lines ...

Manhattan Transfer is a favorite of mine, as is their version of this song.

Went for an extended walk after my first dose of Moderna. Testing out the little G1X III's weather sealing at the moment, without any specific precautions (except for the hood in order to prevent droplet on the front lens as much as possible); it holds up well so far, no glitches or troubles; I only wipe it down once I get home. We'll see how it turns out. The shot itself represents today's conditions rather well - constant light to medium rainfall, pretty low temperatures, but still very nice to be out and about.

Don’t plan any long runs for tomorrow.

Several days ago I was at a local lake in the mountains, a spot where pelicans occasionally stop and spend time. Today I am indoors and, sometimes, I give in to the urge to randomly open the large dictionary and see what is on the page it opens to. And... guess what page it opened to?

From a local coffee roaster's shop. I did some perspective corrections on this in Snapseed which I'm fairly happy with unless I subsequently scrutinize it on a larger screen and find something I don't like.

I'm not certain which I like more, Andrew---
The play of light and shadow in this cool composition...
Or the rich smell of freshly roasted coffee beans that seems to be emanating from your photograph?!
