Pentax Pentax image thread

Mini-dino on the tree sunning itself this morning. This lizard is just over a foot in length, I think the largest one I've seen so far.

Got home from work as the sun was setting on a dreary winter day, figured I'd try some f1.4 shooting on one of my last remaining flowers from Summer/Autumn.

Pentax (might be my favourite)

And for small(ish) sensor comparison - Panasonic G3 w/ Pen F 38mm f1.8

Just viewing while scrolling up and down a few times, I like the first shot best of the three.

It's a close call, but for me, my favorite would be the third one - taken with your G3, and the Pen F 38mm lens.

That K5ii colors are typically Pentax but even more so. Looks fantastic!

Cheers! Not particularly sharp (I always over-estimate the close-focus distance on a wide) or compositionally-great (could have straightened in post but would have lost most of the cat) pics but its fun to shoot up close with an ultra-wide. The Pentax K5 is a joy to shoot & the body doesn't feel much bigger than my E-M1. Would love to try a KP or something more modern but will have to wait til the used prices drop.

I really like the 40mm DA f2.8... I should pick up the cheaper plastic-y version as an every-day user...

Nice shots, Walter.

I think among the many fine Pentax lenses I've used, the DA 40 is right up near the top. So small, so capable - and such a useful focal length.

The cheaper plastic-y one is every bit as fine, optically, as its metal sibling. Either one makes a great keep-on-one's-camera-most-of-the-time lens.
