Continuing the general theme of fall colours - and dead leaves - introduced by Matt and Walter - I will contribute my own version of it, spotted while walking around the small town where I live on a very overcast day.
Though, honestly, I don't find fall colors - or dead leaves - very dreary: they seem to contain quite a variety of very subtle tones, once one starts staring at them obsessively (which is a good way to trip and fall over your own feet, if you're not looking where you are walking).
