One gets the feeling, looking at his face, that he must have more than a few stories to tell.
Great portrait, Bob.

It was quite sad. Children with special needs in remote villages can be ignored and left out because no one is trained to help them. Big Brother Mouse has been making a big push to teach Lao sign language. The book party was heartwarming, and heart rending at moments. These kids were hungry for things to read and had mostly just had whatever the teacher wrote on the blackboard. Books still are not common, but more of them are being put out. Seeing the kids reactions to a new book is encouraging.Lawrence, what an inspirational post.
Big Brother Mouse is a truly worthy idea and organisation. I cannot even start to imagine a life without books, and their equivalent (e.g. Wikipedia). Not a single day passes that I do not refer to a 'book' in some form, often many times a day.
I would be lost without just my dictionaries - Chambers, full Oxford (plus Shorter, etc) and (Dr) Johnson's Dictionary of the English Language (last edition c.1810).
The plight of a deaf child in such a world pierces my heart.
We have around 100+ metres of bookshelves in our home. Filled with books on almost every conceivable subject. It was quite sad.
