Hi
@kae1 , yes I picked the Olympus up on Saturday spent about 1 hour messing with it (busy Saturday) and use it on Sunday
.
So far I like it, I thought the AF Tracking on the Canon 1Dx was good but the Olympus is just so much better.
I use Auto ISO snd range from 200 - 1600? and I think on the Sunday it used most of them and noise is very well controlled, much better than my OMD 5 MkII (still have that)
The colour palette from the E-1x is different from the OMD 5 and I I have now taken the "Contrast" back to 0 I did have it at +1 which I think was little bit to much for sunny Sunday so still need to twiddle.
Maybe it was because of the sunny day but I do like the rich/warm colours I am getting from the JPEGs, suites my style (if I have one
)
It is bigger, as everyone says, but if you took the grips off the body is no bigger than my OMD 5, it handles very well but the smaller non pro lens, like the 25mm f1.8, make it a little odd to handle, no where to really cup your left hand under the lens, but because of it "lightish" weight it does not pose to mush of a problem.
I have seen a lot of reviews comment on the "weight" but to be honest I did not find this an issue, yes it is heavier than my OMD5 MkII and my mobile phone but it is not so heavy as to be a problem after a long day. Certainly when compared to my other DSLR gear (less the Nikon, that got traded).
I will probably have it with me next time at Oulton (not sure if I am going next Saturday) and if I see you then have a play and see what you think. They have dropped so much in price used that it is certainly worth a ponder about getting one.
In short, yes I like it
PS just looking above I notice that you have some shots @ 1/25
really nice as well.
Rats.......going to have to up my game
