The cows didn't get the memo.
Too many of us for the same amount of water, Dan ... .This silo was abandoned when the American Falls dam was built. Normally the reservoir submerges the bottom quarter of the silo, but the drought has not only exposed all of the silo, but much of the ground further down. All of the dirt in this photo would normally be covered by water. The haziness in the air is smoke from wildfires.

No, Victoria in Australia. No real deterrent for car thieves here at all unfortunately.U.S.A.?
It's getting like that in many places here in the U.S. too.No, Victoria in Australia. No real deterrent for car thieves here at all unfortunately.
Edit -as an example, we got broken into a few years back, 2 cars stolen, we had CCTV cameras so they got caught once the Police actually bothered to turn up a day later, and it turns out it was the 11th set of charges they were to be facing. How is that at all possible? 10 previous, & they're still out running around doing exactly the same thing? Something very very wrong there
Oh man, that is terrible. We, at least, have castle doctrine laws in many states here. So we can defend our homes. But the levels of crime are still skyrocketing. Someone stole the catalytic converter off of the truck we use to transport the aircraft wheels and brakes we work on to our shop. While the guys were in it to unload it. And carjackings are at a ridiculous level.@Bobby Tingle Bobby, there is no effective law of trespass in Victoria.
We are, to my knowledge, the only Common Law country/state in the world where this is the case.
If your home is invaded, you are obliged to vacate and call the police. If the trespassers leave when requested to by the police, no crime has been committed!
Talk about insane ...
That's just absurd, Bobby.Oh man, that is terrible. We, at least, have castle doctrine laws in many states here. So we can defend our homes. But the levels of crime are still skyrocketing. The law - as they say - is an ass...That's just absurd, Bobby.
Here, juries have not convicted anyone of using deadly force against trespassers, regardless of the stupidity of the law.
In all other states and territories here one is allowed to use " ... any force necessary ... " when protecting one's dwelling, or aiding another in self defence. Sensible.

It seems laws are protecting the criminals more than the law abiding these days. The law - as they say - is an ass...
There's the story (true apparently) of a burglar who got bitten by a dog at the home he was robbing.
He sued for medical damages and got paid out
