The Storms River Bridge on the N2 Highway between Plettenberg Bay and Cape Saint Francis in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The photo was taken here: Storms River Bridge
The bridge was designed by the Italian engineer Professor Ricardo Morandi and constructed by Concor Construction. The steel reinforcing was provided by Wispeco and designed by one of their young engineers, Grenfel Griffiths, my late father. My siblings and I always referred to the Storms River Bridge (aka Paul Sauer Bridge) as "Dad's Bridge".
A new bridge for Kingston that opened a month ago. The Waaban Crossing (1.2 km-long bridge across the Cataraqui River). Waaban is an Objibwe wording meaning "Dawn" or "Morning Light". Three years of construction but many years of planning and arguing about whether to build it! I'm looking forward to using the bike lane when I return to biking in the spring.
