GAS GAS: Please Share your Latest Acquisitions Big and Small

Well, my Nikon kit is complete (for now at least).

Trying to find one in stock I found Amazon and eBay both had a common reseller. The reseller turned out to be one of the authorized resellers listed on the Voigtlander site. And they were selling them for $100 less.

One out the door, another one in...

I have been waiting for a cheap LX5 to show up, and so it did this evening. A deal was struck and this one here is inbound:

According to the seller it is well used, have some scratches but works as it should with no known faults. Not half bad for €37 inc postage.

With the LX2 and 3 I got somewhere in the autumn/winter, I am now only lacking the LX1 for a full set of the compact high-end LXs. The mainstay of them will always be the LX7, which I have some of and uses with a bit of frequency.

For this and the LX7, I also have the accessory LVFs.

Quick update/thoughts on the S5 and lenses.
The S5 is unremarkable, yet very competent. The bland EVF and DFD CDAF work fine. Color looks great. L. Monochrome D. too. Output is very clean.
The 20-60 is quite nice optically and its range was one of the factors that drew me to the system.
The iSigma 35 is the sleeper. Size, balance and handling on the S5 is just about perfect. Output is very pleasing.
The Panny 85 fits in the unremarkable yet competent category. Smooth and accurate AF. Sharp with a nice clinical rendering.

Replacement for my broken Coolpix A arrived.
The Diary edition GRIII. Can’t quite figure out why it’s called that. But, I am looking forward to trying it out!View attachment 388877
Its probably called that due to that you can note an extra 100 in expenses in your diary, price the only thing I have noted on the different GRIII models over the base model, along with the coloured ring thing... :tomato2:

Finally bit the bullet and bought a standalone copy of Capture One 2023. I made a happy discovery that you can buy the software from retailers like B&H for way less than at the CaptureOne website. $300 was too much, but half that price was much more appealing. I had sold some unused PC hardware recently, so it barely cost me anything out of pocket.

On1 will probably still have its place, but Capture One performs better.

Two more NP-W126S batteries for my Fuji X100V, bought in one of the stores in Eindhoven that is open on Sundays. "OK, it's in stock according to your website." (store clerk coming up with it) "Do you happen to have another one?" (store clerk rummaging again through a box and found another one) "OK, give me two."

Yesterday during a 5-hour photo walk in Amsterdam, I exhausted 2 fully charged batteries, charging one of them from a powerbank during a half-hour coffee break didn't really help. Now I should be good for 8 hours of intensive shooting.

After a bit of haggling, I scored this one:

Pentax K5.jpgPentax K5 front.jpg

Sans the flash, with charger and two batteries for €120ish all in. 17,5K shutter actuations.

It may or may not come with the pictured 18-55, depending if the seller finds a body cap or not. I would actually prefer it with the body cap over the lens, as I have a couple of the 18-55 non-WRs from earlier, and they hold little to no value over here.

Now, if someone just would post up a reasonably priced K3/K3II, I would be a very happy camper. I think I would actually prefer the K3 over the K3II, as I normally would have more use for a built in flash than a ditto GPS.

You are not helping my GAS withdrawal ... Especially for Pentax DSLRs.
(I have a fondness memory of how much I desired the Pentax K-7 more then a decade ago. And I have a temptation for Pentax K-3 II for the GPS for astrophotography)

I do have some feelers out on an entire "job" lot, with a K20D, four decent lenses, the Pentax 16-45 f:4 and Sigmas 10-20, 17-70mm f:1:2.8-4.5 macro, the 70-300mm f:5.6 tele and a Crumpler bag fitting the entire set plus battery and charger. Asking price €200.

I didnt even bother trying to haggle, now I just wait. Keen on the 16-45 and the 10-20, the rest is somewhat just an added bonus.
