Love this era, cars were still being developed and racing was much more dangerous than it is today.

My son's VX220, (Opel Speedster in continental Europe), which he got for his 21st Birthday, (don't ask about the insurance), - he thought that it was pretty remarkable

davect01, I share your love for pre-war race cars, and I hugely admire the courage that the racers must have had, but I'm sure glad that racing is so much safer these days (despite some deadly accidents in the last few weeks driving home the point that speed will always remain dangerous)!
 
I have to say just plain cool. You never know what you will encounter.

Re posting in here because it seems a more appropriate thread.
I was walking in town only a couple of hundred meters from my house when I came across this racing Bugatti just sitting on the street. Couldn't believe it could be a real one till I got closer.
