Don't bring your dog into the park but if you do watch out for the poison we've put down. As a dog owner I can't help finding this image deeply depressing.

My reaction, too. Of course I realize I have no understanding of the circumstances but the idea of poisoning just about anything besides, dare I say it - rats, makes me feel ill.

Peter is there a big problem with foxes? And wild dogs - as in domesticated dogs who have been abandoned and become ferrell? Definitely a provoking photo!

1080 poison when baited at specific concentrations really only affects dogs, foxes and rabbits. Foxes and rabbits are introduced species in Australia and vermin. Even mice and rats are safe from this poison in the way it is used. The baits also target specific animals (based on what bait is used).

The poisoned bait is only laid in National Parks and domestic pets are banned anyway and those roaming the parks would be considered feral. The poison does not affect native animals, birds or cats and other animals (including people) in the concentrations used.

Love the hedgehog graphic - very prehistoric looking, like it could burst your tyre.

Speaking as a leftie it's disappointing to see yet another manifestation of anti-leftie prejudice in that hand. Surely there must be somebody I can sue?

John, I'm so glad to see you and your S95 photos! Great series of signs that make me feel as though I would be taking my life in my hands by just visiting that park. Those water mark signs are quite sobering!
