Ricoh Ricoh says sensor can be replaced/upgraded in modules !!!

I want that to be true, but seems like the cost would be close to what a new module would run?

Also, I kind of would like an extra focus turbo chip in there. :D

But... if they are going to be discontinuing the A12 modules and converting everything to A16, I would upgrade my 28mm for sure. Not sure what would cost less... trade-in/upgrade or depreciation hit on used sale of the A12.

GXR and M module went back. I might still get one in the future if Ricoh improves the peaking. A slightly bigger body or grip would be nice in the future.

Other manufacturers can sure learn from the UI in the GXR though.

Ah, man, sorry it didn't work out.

I hear ya on the UI - love the way they have it set up. I love my A12 28mm module at low ISO, but get frustrated with the AF in low light. When I switch over to my E-P3 then, I miss the Ricoh UI and the silent shutter (and I actually prefer the grip to the E-P3's).

Man, they make it hard to settle on just one camera/system. :D

I'm with you Kyle. Silent shutters are awesome. Loved it on the GXR, and also on the X100 and X10. Every time I use a m4/3 camera or even the K-5, the shutter sound is too loud for me.

I like the grip on the GXR better than the original EP3 grip. Maybe the bigger EP3 grip would be better. I'm hoping the grip on the OMD won't bother me too much. I pre-ordered it, and I'm getting more excited about the OMD now than even the Fuji XP1.

I can't believe that you sent a camera back - are you sure it's not somewhere in one of your cupboards, (do you have that word in the US)

Hehehe. Yes, it did go back. And yes, we do have the word "cupboard." But I don't have one. Now that you mentioned it, I should get one just to store the gear!

 Dang you Pierre! (rumor source supposedly)

There may have been a frantic call from the Rioch support center to Mirrorless Rumors. :dash2:

Hmmm ... Ricoh should not have sent out that email then! The email did sound a little too straight forward. Most "real" replies would have been something more ambiguous.
