For sale is my absolutely mint Voigtlander Bessa R2a 35mm M-mount rangefinder body. No marks whatsoever. Bought it used in December 2011 but soon thereafter picked up a Leica M6, so it has not seen much use. Strap, body cap and batteries included, but no box or instruction manual. The manual is available on the web (not that you would need it as it is an extremely simple camera to operate).

Lens shown in the picture not included.

$450 shipping to US included and PayPal. International shipping at cost.

PayPal only to verified addresses.

Thank you,

Antonio

Bump. Think of all the fun you could have posting photos taken with this beauty in the Film Cameras Forum... :)

Reasonable offers will be given due consideration.

Cheers,

Antonio

AJ, how do the two viewfinders compare?

The viewfinder is very similar to the viewfinder in my .72 M6TTL. Same magnification, just as bright and clear. Not as prone to flaring as the M6, which gives it an advantage. Of course, it has fewer frame lines (35, 50, 75 and 90 only, no 28 or 135) and no automatic selection of frame lines.

It's a fine camera; it's just not being used. Plus, due to a recent bout with GAS, I need to start replenishing the savings account.

Cheers,

Antonio

one can use the whole viewfinder area as a reasonable approximation to 28mm & it's not too much of an effort to use the little switch on top to change framelines
Just thought I'd mention, in case anyone (luke for instance) felt these were showstoppers :)

Of course, you are right Paul. Thank you so much for the clarification.

P.D. Reasonable offers are welcome. Hint...hint... :)

Cheers,

Antonio

Luke ... I AM YOUR FATHER ...

Seriously though please buy it Luke. Not only would it be an excellent intro into the world of film...AHHH FILM :cloud-9-039: but it would also take it off the market. I'm equally tempted but am trying my best to save every penny for an M6 myself. Having said that - and prepare yourself for the sacrilege - I am equally tempted by a medium format (film) camera. I know, I know, that loses points in the 'compact' stakes, but earns super bonus points for seriousness.

buy a medium format rangefinder then it is just a serious compact on steroids:eek:

I know Bob. I have a bid going on a Texas Leica (Fuji GW670III). Fingers crossed! Though I'd still prefer something with an in-built meter - failing that it's a Voigtlander VCII for me.

But I digress....sorry to hijack your thread Antonio. Best of luck with this sale my friend.

I have lusted for a Mamiya 7 for ages...

Cheers,

Antonio

Having owned both the Mamiya 6 and 7, I regretted sell my 6 to get the 7. I preferred the lens selection and the camera itself, less bulky. Honestly it was probably the only time I really liked shooting squares.

Congrats Antonio...congrats Luke....and so the mantle hath been passed :jedi:

I have heard this often Bob. Problem being is that the 6 aint too easy to find. I was tempted by 645s - esp the Bronica RF 645. But it's too odd having the frame natively in portrait format....I'd certainly prefer square for my style.
